Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Through-out several public hearings on construction projects in Dickinson County recently, many residents have called for an update of the county’s comprehensive land use plan.
Today the Board of Supervisors approved a nearly 103 thousand dollar contract with the RDG firm to write a new document. Supervisor Steve Clark was on the task force that recommended that specific firm.

Zoning Administrator Megan Kardell says the consultant will work with a permanent advisory panel representing the Board of Adjustment, Planning and Zoning Board, Board of Supervisors, Bike Trail Association, Conservation Board, and County Engineer’s office. And special groups will be convened for input along the way.

Kardell says writing the new comprehensive land use plan for Dickinson County could take a year.
