Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Spencer Fire Department contained a house fire to one room yesterday afternoon. They were dispatched to 1302 1st Avenue East at 3:30 where smoke could be observed emanating from windows on the South side of the house. A physical search determined nobody was home.
An attack line was established and the flames quickly extinguished. There was heavy smoke damage throughout the home. Firefighters remained at the scene until just after 5pm. No cause has been released.

The Clay County Assessor’s website lists the owners of the building as Joan Quail.
