Okoboji, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A New Jersey woman has been arrested in Dickinson County for taking part in what local officials say is a nationwide criminal enterprise.

65 year old Fanny Singer from Paterson, New Jersey has been charged with Identity Theft, Forgery, 2nd Degree Theft, 2nd Degree Theft Against an Elderly Person, and Ongoing Criminal Conduct.

Court Documents accuse Singer of entering a bank in Okoboji back in May and presenting a fraudulent passport ID card and obtaining 82 hundred dollars. She then is alleged to have tried the same thing at a bank in Terril using a different, fraudulent ID card, but was unsuccessful.

Okoboji police say an 89-year-old Milford woman was defrauded of several thousand dollars.
