MILFORD, IA (Northwestiowanow) — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run accident that damaged a power transformer in Milford Monday evening.

The Milford Police Department says officers were dispatched around 5:16 p.m. on November 24th to the intersection of A34 and Q Avenue after receiving reports of a crash. When officers arrived, they found a destroyed power transformer and debris from the suspected vehicle.

The vehicle was located a short time later in the 2300 block of Okoboji Avenue, where officers made contact with the driver, identified as Michael Steven Koch of Wentworth, South Dakota.

Koch was cited for failure to maintain control, and officials say the case remains under investigation.
