Driver Cited After Vehicle Strikes Farm Machinery Near Hull

HULL, IA (Northwestiowanow) –  A collision involving a passenger vehicle and farm machinery left one person with minor injuries  last Thursday, Aug 28, evening about a mile east of Hull.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. on August 28 when 46-year-old Ryan Lynn Moberg of Worthington, Minnesota, was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup pulling a stalk chopper.

The head of the chopper extended into the westbound lane and was struck by a westbound Mercedes-Benz S420 driven by 75-year-old Peter William De Yager of Hull. De Yager sustained minor injuries but declined further medical attention.

Moberg was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway. Damage to the stalk chopper head was estimated at $1,000, while De Yager’s vehicle sustained approximately $12,000 in damage.
