Emmet County Courthouse Closed to Voters

ESTHERVILLE, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) – Voting for the 2025 City-School Election will not take place at the Emmet County Courthouse due to ongoing construction.

All absentee voting will instead be conducted at the Emmet County West Administration Building, located at 101 N. 6th Street in Estherville. Voting begins October 15 and will be available weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through November 3.

Voters who wish to receive an absentee ballot by mail must request and return a form to the auditor’s office. Ballots will be mailed between October 15 and October 20. The deadline to submit a request is October 20.

On Election Day, November 4, all precincts in Emmet County will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters in the Ward 3 precincts of Emmet Township and Estherville Township will cast their ballots at the Emmet County West Administration Building. Affected voters will receive notification of the polling place change by mail.
