EVERLY, IOWA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Everly is set to host its annual Community Days celebration this weekend, with a full slate of activities scheduled from Friday through Sunday.
The main day of events will be Saturday, August 16. The day begins with a Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 203 North Main Street, offering a variety of baked goods, crafts, and ceramics. Food trucks will also be stationed throughout town, with options from 712 BBQ, Daily Grind, and Lucky Wife Wine Slushies.
For children, the Clay County Countrymen 4-H Club will host kids’ games and races at City Park, starting at 10 a.m. The Everly Fire & Rescue will also hold Kids Water Fights at the park at the same time. The Clay County Rabbit Wranglers will have rabbits on display, along with a hopping demonstration and a plant sale at the Schuver Shed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Everly Heritage Museum will also be open on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Community members can participate in the 5th Annual Cookie Memorial Mini Golf Tournament, a benefit for local cancer centers in memory of Kevin Cook. Registration for the tournament is from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Other activities include Bossy Bingo and an Evertek Ping Pong Drop.
The evening will feature a Fire & Rescue Evening Meal at the fire station from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by the annual Street Dance. The dance, located on North Main Street, will feature live music from the band Past Our Prime, playing classic hits. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the band starting at 8 p.m. The Everly Heritage Museum will also be open on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
