Fire Crews Investigate Smoke Report at Spencer Building

SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) — Emergency crews responded to reports of smoke inside a Spencer building early Friday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched on Friday, April 3, to a building at 804 11th Street Southwest after reports of a haze of smoke inside the structure.

Fire crews arrived just after 9 a.m. and initially found nothing showing from the outside.

During further investigation, a light haze of smoke was discovered in the restrooms.

Firefighters conducted an extensive inspection of the building from the roof to the basement, but were unable to determine the source of the smoke. The building was later turned back over to the occupant.

No injuries were reported, and the scene was cleared shortly before 9:42 a.m.

A total of 13 firefighters responded to the call, along with officers from the Spencer Police Department.
