STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A Fort Dodge man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into a series of thefts from Bomgaars locations.

Storm Lake Police say they were notified on Thursday, January 8, of thefts at several Bomgaars stores dating back to early December of 2025.

Following an investigation, police allege 40-year-old Duke Davis fraudulently charged merchandise to a former employer’s account at five Bomgaars locations in Northwest Iowa, including the Storm Lake store.

Authorities allege Davis forged the former employee’s signature without authorization during the transactions, resulting in more than $7,300 worth of stolen merchandise.

After arrest warrants were issued, Davis was transferred from the Webster County Jail to the Buena Vista County Jail on Monday, March 23.

He was booked on charges of ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony; forgery, a Class D felony; and second-degree theft, also a Class D felony.

Davis remains in custody at the Buena Vista County Jail on a $32,000 bond.
