Gas Odor Prompts Emergency Response at Spencer High School

Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — Spencer Fire Rescue responded to a report of a gas odor at Spencer High School Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to 800 East 3rd Street at 2:21 p.m. and arrived within minutes, joined by Spencer Police and Black Hills Energy.

Firefighters deployed multiple gas detectors throughout the building and inspected all gas-fired appliances and rooftop HVAC units.

No leaks were found, and the scene was cleared at 3:58 p.m.

KICD has reached out to Spencer Community Schools for comment.
