Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The General Manager of Spencer Media Group officially retired last week.  Dave Putnam moved from town to town and up and down the dial for nearly 20 years, until landing in Spencer in 2000.

Putnam says Spencer is a community that supports its local businesses.

And Putnam appreciates the corporate viewpoint that all radio is local.

In the past 26 years, the Spencer Radio Group evolved into the Spencer MEDIA group.

Dave and Terry Putnam plan to remain in Spencer but make more trips to visit grandchildren in Texas. Putnam is the past President of the Iowa Broadcasters Association and won the Spencer Chamber of Commerce Spirit award in 2023.
