H-LP Elementary Burst Steam Pipe Cancels Classes

There is no school for students  on Monday, January 5 or Tuesday, January Harris-Lake Park.  Superintendent Mike Thompson says a steam pipe burst Friday making the current elementary building unusable, and the new elementary building is not yet ready for occupancy. The school board determined over the weekend they will not invest money reopening the old building.

He asked us to pass along his appreciation to the administrative team that has been working throughout the weekend: Elementary Principal Becca Matthiesen, Middle and High School principal Greg Hiemstra, and Activities Director Jared Rahe. The goal is to resume classes Wednesday.
