Head-On Collision Claims One Life Near Palmer Thursday

Pocahontas County, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A head-on collision three miles north of Palmer at noon Thursday has left a Colorado man dead. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 31-year-old Darwin Rosales Castillo of Westminster, Colorado, was northbound on Highway 4 when he veered into the southbound lane. His vehicle struck one operated by 65-year-old Ronald Meyer of Pocahontas head-on. Meyer was not injured in the crash. Castillo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
