Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Clay County Fair and Events Center won two first place awards last week from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.

It’s the second time the organization has been honored with the “Best of Division” award, being honored in 2025 for commercial exhibits and concessions. In 2020 they won for agricultural exhibits.

They also took top honors for vendor recognition with the annual Best New Food contest.

And the Clay County Fair took third place for non-fair utilization of facilities with the Bulls and Brews event.

CEO Jason Brockshus says multiple volunteers are dissecting the most recent fair right now.

That Bulls and Brews event that won an award last week will be back in March. Tickets are on sale now.
