Iowa State University Releases Annual Cash Rent Survey

Ames, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) – Iowa State University is out with the annual cash rent survey for Iowa farmland.

 

Ann Johanns is the chief researcher.

 

 

Johanns says cash rent boils down to local economic conditions and the competition for land in each neighborhood.

 

 

The highest average rent this year is in Sioux County at 332 dollars, but that was 7 dollars LOWER than 2025. Lyon County was number two in the state at 331, that wsa UP 21 dollars.

From highest to lowest in the KICD Broadcast area farm rental rates are: 308 dollars in O’Brien County, 306 in Cherokee, 292 in Buena Vista, 284 in Pocahontas, 281 in Osceola, 280 for Palo Alto, 273 in Clay County – up 6 dollars from last year – 257 in Dickinson, and 248 in Emmet.
