Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The city of Spencer is moving forward with the local buyout program for homes South of the bridge. City Manager Kevin Robinson says it’s likely the city will have its deals done before the federal government.

Thirteen of the fifteen property owners are participating. Two have already sold. Robinson told the City Council Monday night that another grant to help with planning is probable.

That program is administered by the Economic Development Administration. The Northwest Iowa Planning and Development Commission assisted the city of Spencer’s grant application.
