Lyon County Files Additional Charges Against Inmate

Rock Rapids, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — One of the men being held in the Lyon County jail for the alleged burglary and vandalism at that county’s courthouse in December has now been charged with with assaulting a jail staffer with a bodily fluid.

The Deputy filing the charge says a female corrections officer was tending to another inmate when she turned around and was splashed in the face by a cup of urine from 18-year-old Luciano Sanchez of Denver, Colorado.

It is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The door to Sanchez’s cell was believed to have been locked at the time
