Man Charged After Allegedly Recording Minors in Bathroom

STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A Storm Lake man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after authorities say he secretly recorded minors inside a private bathroom.

According to the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Hector Alonzo Hernandez was arrested following an investigation into incidents reported on April 27th.

Investigators allege Hernandez used a phone to record and capture explicit screenshots of at least two minors and another individual while they were nude inside a home where he had been living.

Court records show Hernandez is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, both Class B felonies, and three counts of invasion of privacy, all aggravated misdemeanors. All alleged offenses are listed as occurring April 27th.

The case was filed June 2nd in Buena Vista County District Court and remains pending with no disposition at this time.  Hernandez was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on June 3rd. His bond was set at $10,000.

Records show he has entered a plea of not guilty.
