MILFORD, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Milford City Council has approved a zoning change for land recently annexed into the city by the Okoboji School District.

The decision came during the council’s regular meeting on Monday, September 22, following the completion of a required 30-day public comment period and a public hearing with no objections raised.

Milford Mayor Steve Anderson says the zoning change was necessary due to how newly annexed land is classified.

The council voted to rezone the property to R8 residential, which aligns with the school’s development plans and allows access to city services like sewer and water.

The Okoboji School District expressed support for the city’s action, and no public objections were raised during the hearing.
