Motorcycle Accident Thursday Morning Sends One to Hospital

Orleans, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Graettinger man sustained incapacitating injuries in a one-vehicle accident on the state line Thursday morning. The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department reports 49-year-old Shawn Fiddler lost control of his motorcycle at the intersection of 240th Avenue and 100th Street (on the Northwest corner of Big Spirit Lake) around 11:30. Fiddler was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare by ambulance.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Spirit Lake Police, Spirit Lake first responders and LRH ambulance, and Dickinson County Emergency Management also responded to the call.
