New Details on Remsen Bus Accident

Hinton, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Plymouth County Sheriff’s department has released new information about that accident on Highway 75 near the Woodbury county line that involved a private vehicle and a team bus owned by the Remsen St. Mary’s School.

On the bus: a 16-year-old female was transported by Wings Helicopter to Sanford in Sioux Falls, a 15-year-old female was taken to Unity Point South in Sioux City and transferred by helicopter to the University Medical Center in Omaha, and an 18-year-old female was taken to Unity Point South and transferred to University Medical Center in Omaha. One girl was take to the hospital with possible injuries and three were treated at the scene. The driver – 60 year old Scott Willman – was transported by ambulance to Sioux City.

The driver of the Jeep Compass Sport – 32 year old Joshua Monroy of LeMars was taken to Unity Point with what are described as minor injuries. One of his passengers was taken to the hospital by ambulance and two others were transported to the hospital by private vehicle to be checked out.
The Iowa State Patrol and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate that fiery accident that ocurred around 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon as the bus was making a left-hand turn across the highway.
