New Foods at 2024 Clay County Fair


Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Twenty-nine new foods are coming to the Clay County Fair this year. They include Deep-Fried Sweet corn on the cob, exotic meat jerky, and Hot Cheeto Pretzels.

Fair staff has selected six new offerings to compete for the Best New Fair Food of 2024 contest.

They are:
Chicken Fried Steak and mashed potatoes served by TNT

Two entries from Taulelle Concessions: Pork tenderloin strips served with schnitzel sauce, and Cuban Waffle Sandwiches.

Maple Bacon Latte from Black Earth Java, and an ice-cream / espresso dish from Ground to Perfection.

And McCreary’s Hospitality – home of the deep-fried cinnamon roll – will be serving Deep-fried Cholate Chip Cookies prepared in funnel cake batter.

A panelist of celebrity judges will select their favorite the first day of the fair, and you can vote for the people’s choice award for best new food Saturday through Wednesday.
