PRIMGHAR, IA (Northwestiowanow) – A Sanborn man is facing multiple charges after turning himself in to authorities early Wednesday morning.

51-year-old Wayne Dennis Duranceau Jr. arrived at the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office in Primghar around 2:30 a.m. on August 20, after discovering an active warrant for his arrest while searching his name online.

Duranceau, who is listed on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry, failed to report both his residence and place of employment to the sheriff’s office, as required by Iowa law. Investigators say he had been living at a home east of Sanborn along Highway 18 since May 21 and working at Jay’s Restaurant in Sanborn since July 2. Neither detail had been registered with authorities.

In addition to the registration violation, Duranceau was also charged with violating a no-contact order. An incident report states he admitted to getting into an argument with a protected individual at the residence before turning himself in.

He now faces charges for a first-offense sex offender registration violation and violation of a protective order.
