Primghar, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) —  The O’Brien County Board of Supervisors is moving forward with budget planning for the next fiscal year.

During their Tuesday morning session, the Board officially set a public hearing for the Fiscal 2027 Proposed Property Tax Levy. Mark your calendars for March 31st at 9:00 a.m. at the courthouse in Primghar.

Property owners should keep an eye on their mailboxes soon—the County Auditor has been directed to send out official notices to every taxpayer, detailing how these proposed rates will impact your specific bill.

This local move comes as state lawmakers in Des Moines debate significant property tax reforms, including potential two-percent revenue caps and new exemptions for seniors.
