Palo Alto County Sheriff Arrest Ruthven Man in Traffic Stop

RUTHVEN, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) — A routine traffic stop in Ruthven led to the arrest of a local man wanted in multiple counties.

According to a report from the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, September 20. Authorities conducted the stop at the intersection of Center Street and Gowrie Street. During the stop, the driver, identified as 48-year-old Todd Lee Brown of Ruthven, was arrested at the scene. Brown had a valid warrant in Palo Alto County for Failure to Appear for Plea Taking. The original charge tied to the warrant was 3rd Degree Theft, classified as an aggravated misdemeanor. In addition to the warrant, Brown was also charged with two counts of 3rd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance, both Class D felonies.

Officials say Brown is also being held on active arrest warrants out of Clay and Emmet Counties.
