Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Contract nurse accused of drugging patients so they would sleep and stealing their prescriptions has entered an amended plea.
37 year old Rachel Martinez of Peterson was arrested on six counts dating back to November 2022 when she was employed by the Aya Healthcare Staffing Agency, and was assigned to Spencer Hospital. At the time, Spencer Hospital released a statement saying the misconduct was discovered by their protocol.
Martinez agreed to a plea deal in March. Now she has entered an official written plea to two counts of Wanton Neglect of a Dependent Adult by a Caregiver.
