Sioux Rapids, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – On Big Country 107.7, Class A #10 Sioux Central was at home against Pocahontas Area.
The two teams traded Touchdowns in the 2nd quarter. Sioux Central’s 2-point conversion was successful while Pocahontas Area missed their PAT, making it 8-6 at the half in favor of the Rebels.
The second half was all Sioux Central, as Michael Buettner scored a couple more Touchdowns and the Rebel Defense suffocated PAC en route to the 20-6 win.
Buettner had 33 rushes on the day for Sioux Central for 166 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Max Wittmack and Sawyer Holleson each gave the Rebels some quality carries as they ran for 267 yards on the night.
Pocahontas Area only managed 146 total yards on the day with 88 on the ground and 58 through the air.
Pocahontas Area will host Lawton-Bronson next week, and Sioux Central opens up District play against West Sioux at home.
