Special Election Set in Pocahontas

Pocahontas, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Registered voters in Pocahontas will get the chance to vote for a new State Representative on Tuesday, December 9th. It’s part of the 7th District in the House of Representatives which also includes Calhoun, Sac, and a portion of Webster County.

Republican Mike Sexton of Rockwell City resigned that position Friday when he was named by the Trump Administration as the new director of the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development office in Iowa.

Political parties may hold special nominating conventions to place candidates on the ballot. The date was selected by Governor Reynolds.
