Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) – It won’t be long before people will be going to the polls to vote in the upcoming election Tuesday, November 4th.
Once again, the Spencer Media Group is partnering with the Spencer Reporter and Spencer Municipal Utilities to host a local candidate’s forum Wednesday, October 15th.  Candidates running in the city’s contested races for mayor and council positions have all been invited.  Those individuals include Mayoral candidates Donavan Wunschel and Ron Hansen; Ward 3 candidates Tracey Larson and Amy Moser; and councilman at-large candidates Brian J. Balk, Bradley Bolyard and Becky Peterson.
Additionally, uncontested city candidates Tom Nelson, Ward 1; Chuck Illg, Ward 2; as well as school board candidates: Chad Irvine, Shelby Haak and Bob Whittenburg, have been invited to attend and provide information on themselves.
The county has also been invited to address the recommendation by the Clay County EMS Advisory Council to impose an ad valorem property tax for the purposes of creation and maintenance of a stable revenue stream for the purpose of funding its essential emergency medical services
(EMS) in Clay County including but not limited to, ambulance service, personnel and equipment.
The Forum will be held at Spencer City Hall starting at 6:30pm.  The forum will be broadcast on KICD AM 1240 and 102.5 FM, as well as on SMU cable channel 2.
