Spencer Fire and Police Departments May Report

Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Spencer Fire Department answered 76 calls in May, twenty more than the same month a year ago. 14 were fire-related, including a house fire at 326 East 19th Street on May 13th. Fire Chief Jesse Coulsen says there were 59 medical calls including one ambulance run and assisting 17 individuals who had fallen. The fire department also conducted 10 inspections.

Spencer police responded to 943 calls and performed 22 arrests. Police Chief Mark Warburton says the Clay County Communication Center answered 2,297 calls, 414 of which were 9-1-1 calls.
