Hartley, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a late-night rollover crash involving 38-year-old Bryce Hall of Spencer. On April 15, Hall was traveling east on 340th Street, south of Hartley, when his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado crossed the centerline, hit a field driveway, and rolled multiple times into a ditch.

Authorities were alerted by an automatic 911 message from an Apple device, but they found the vehicle abandoned.
The truck was totaled with an estimated $25,000 in damage.
Deputies located Hall at his home in Spencer the following day and confirmed he had been injured.

Investigators cite alcohol as a major factor, as Hartley Police report Hall was refused service at a bar  in Hartley for intoxication shortly before the wreck.

Open and unopened alcohol containers were found at the scene, and officials believe Hall fled to avoid an intoxication investigation. He has been cited for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury and failure to maintain control.
