Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A new book is out, sharing stories from those impacted by the devastating 2024 Spencer Floods. The book is a project of Arts on Grand that gives a voice to the victims. Their accounts of that June day are both heartbreaking, and at times, uplifting. John Smock is President of the Arts on Grand Board of Directors and says that’s why they knew they had to make this book.

More than 400 books have already been ordered, with a shipment of 200 copies arriving at Arts on Grand next week. Another 500 are expected this fall. Smock says the attention the book has received, both across the state and even internationally, has been a pleasant surprise, and he encourages them to order their copy online.
Ordering on Amazon is the easiest way to get a copy, but the public can stop by Arts on Grand in Spencer to look at the book and place an order. The Spencer Flood book is expected to be book stores across the world soon.
