Spencer Middle School Brings ‘Bye Bye Birdie: Youth Edition’ to the Stage This Weekend


SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Spencer Middle School Theatre Department is bringing their production of Bye Bye Birdie: Youth Edition this weekend.

The musical is the authorized youth adaption of the 1960 stage hit written by Michael Stewart. Director Abbey Fujimoto says the story transports audiences back to 1958.

 

 

Fujimoto says the show features about 40 middle school cast members, supported by another 15 to 20 students working behind the scenes on lighting, crew, music, and choreography.

Tanner Prickett plays the role of Albert Peterson, one of the central characters in the story.

Bye Bye Birdie: Youth Edition opens Friday, March 6, with additional performances March 7 and 8 at Spencer High School. Tickets are now available through the Bound website or from participating students.
