Spirit Lake Man Flees Traffic Stop, Ends with “Head-Butt” and Multiple Charges

Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Spirit Lake police arrested an individual after a short chase through town Wednesday morning, September 3.

Shortly after midnight an officer attempted to stop the Silverado pickup operated by 41-year-old Gabriel Hall of Spirit Lake in the 1500 block of Highway 9 and 71. Hall led them on a pursuit that ended at the Hill Avenue and 24th Street intersection in town.

Police Chief Shane Brevik says Hall exited the vehicle with his hands up but “head-butted” the officer in the face when he was being placed in the cruiser.

Hall has been charged with Eluding, Interference with Official Acts, Assaulting a Police Officer, multiple traffic violations, and 2nd offense O.W.I.
