Storm Lake Boys Cruise at Denison-Schleswig Invite

Denison, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Storm Lake’s Cross Country teams competed at the Denison-Schleswig Invite at Majestic Hills Golf Course in Denison on Tuesday.

In the Girls race, Ashlyn Rau of Harlan won with a time of 20:09.98 followed by her teammate Julia Heslink at 21:08.04. In 3rd was Silvia Kampbell of Storm Lake with a time of 21:32.93. Ridge View’s Addison Tesch took 4th at 22:23.19 and in 5th was Woodbine’s Reagan Cogdill at 23:06.06.

Harlan took the team title with 32 points, Tri-Center was 2nd at 65, and Ridge View placed 3rd at 78. Storm Lake was 6th with 153 points.

For the Boys race, it was Haven Weers of Tri-Center winning with a time of 17:07.9. Joel Ramirez-Parra of Storm Lake was 2nd at 17:29.53. In 3rd was Aiden Summerfield of Woodbine at 17:39.13 with Harlan’s Jeffrey Gross in 4th at 17:52.63 and Landon Thayer of Logan-Magnolia 5th at 18:04.91.

Storm Lake also put Jacob Mills in the top 10 at 9th with a time of 18:32.84, followed by teammate Alexander Ortega in 10th at 18:40.47.

Storm Lake dominated in the team scores, winning with 51 points. Kuemper Catholic of Carroll was 2nd at 95 and Lincoln of Council Bluffs was 3rd at 110 points.
