STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The City of Storm Lake has approved a service agreement with Piper Sandler & Co. to move forward with its major water treatment plant project.

During Monday’s regular city council meeting on March 2, City Finance Manager Tyler Gibbins presented the proposal to the council.  The agreement would formalize Piper Sandler & Co.’s role in assembling the finance package. He noted that financial advisor Tim Oswald will oversee several major components.

Gibbins explained that Piper Sandler will manage the full financing timeline and ensure all transactions tied to the project are properly executed.  The council reviewed the full cost structure, which includes the two-year payment schedule, the 1 percent issuance fee, and the $1,500 charge for each alternative financing scenario the advisor may propose.

The motion passed unanimously with no questions or objections — marking a major step in keeping the water treatment plant project on track for continued development.
