Storm Lake Man Charged With Third-Degree Sexual Abuse

Storm Lake, IA (northwestiowanow) — A local police investigation has led to a Storm Lake man facing a felony sex abuse charge.

Officers with the Storm Lake Police Department were notified of a previously unreported sexual assault involving an adult female on September 17.

An investigation alleges the incident occurred during August 2026 at a residence in Storm Lake.

Nery Arnoldo Gutierrez, 54, surrendered himself at the Buena Vista County Jail on Wednesday, September 30.

Gutierrez was booked into the jail and held on a $5,000 bond.

He is charged with Third-Degree Sexual Abuse, a Class C felony.

The UnityPoint Health – St. Lukes Siouxland Child Advocacy Center assisted the Storm Lake Police Department with the investigation.
