Storm Lake Man Dies In Nebraska Crash

Dakota County, Nebraska (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A Storm Lake man has died following a two-vehicle accident in northeast Nebraska.

KICD News confirmed with the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office that 38-year-old Nei Doh Htoo of Storm Lake died at the scene of a crash Sunday night, November 16th.

The accident happened just after 8 P.M. on Highway 77 near the Kingsbury Interchange in Dakota County. Authorities report Htoo was driving a Toyota Camry northbound in the southbound lanes when his vehicle struck a Jeep Compass.

The driver of the Jeep, 32-year-old Elsa Pena-Lopez of Dakota City, Nebraska, was treated at a hospital and released. A four-year-old boy in her vehicle was flown to Children’s Hospital in Omaha, where he remains in critical condition.

The Sheriff’s Office notes Htoo’s vehicle caught fire in the engine compartment area due to the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
