Storm Lake, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Mike Porsch, the Mayor of Storm Lake, has announced he will not seek re-election this November. Porsch has been a fixture in Storm Lake politics for 16 years, first serving on the City Council and then for two terms as Mayor.

Porsch said in a statement that it was a difficult decision, but it’s time to see what life’s next chapter brings. He added that he plans to remain committed and involved in the community, and hopes to continue his work with the Hometown Pride initiative and the Storm Lake Nature Area.

The Mayor’s seat will be on the ballot in the city election on November 4th.
