STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — Storm Lake Police say a domestic disturbance report involving a firearm turned out to be false Sunday afternoon.

On November 23, authorities were called to a home at 1405 North Seneca Street around 12:40 p.m. after receiving a call about a domestic situation involving a gun.
Officers attempted to contact the reported victim and suspect.

After investigating, police say the reporting party admitted the incident never happened. A 16-year-old Storm Lake girl was charged with False Reports to Public Safety, a Class D Felony.

She was referred to juvenile court and released to a parent.
