Sunday Night Severe Weather Rips Through KICD Listening Area

Northwest Iowa (Northwest Iowa Now) — Sunday evening turned into a significant weather event across the entire KICD listening area.

The National Weather Service issued over ten tornado warnings – including a confirmed tornado on the ground near Pomeroy shortly after 9pm. An eye witness also called us to report a tornado about 2 miles northeast of Lost Island Lake.

Numerous towns reported power outages. In Linn Grove, Greenville and Ayrshire there were reports of trees and power lines down over road ways. Several listeners reported a tree blocking highway 4 just south of Graettinger.
