Storm lake, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The Storm Lake Public Library is inviting the community to its second annual Seed Swap and Giveaway this Saturday, February 7. Starting at noon, residents can stop by to pick up free vegetable and flower seeds to jumpstart their gardens.
Whether you have seeds to trade or are brand new to gardening, everyone is welcome. Families can take home up to five free packets while supplies last, thanks to donations from the nonprofit Nine Square Feet, Kathy Kapitan, and Boyer River Farm.
The Seed Swap and Giveaway will be held Saturday, February 7, starting at noon. The library will also have a display of popular gardening books to provide inspiration for local growers. While gardeners are welcome to swap in packets of seed, or seed from their gardens (please identify the plant type), a swap is not necessary to claim free seeds.
