Arnolds Park, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Three houses on Allen Avenue – the one-way street perpendicular to Broadway Avenue in downtown Arnolds Park – caught fire yesterday afternoon. Arnolds Park Okoboji Fire Chief Chris Yungbluth says he’s glad it wasn’t winter, and the wind wasn’t blowing.

The Arnolds Park and Okoboji Police Departments, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa DNR, City of Arnolds Park, and Dickinson County Emergency Management were all on scene, along with Alliant and Black Hills Energy. There had been a fire behind the structure earlier in the day, and an investigation into the cause continues.

Yungbluth believes one renter was displaced as was being assisted by the Red Cross.
