Mason City, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Swim Team competed in their first Invitational of the 2026 season, traveling to Mason City along with 6 other teams.
The Relay events started of nicely for the Tigers, with Emerson Wittrock, Halle Sears, Aubrey Paterson, and Aubrey McFarland combining for a time of 1:51.89, finishing 1st in the 200y Medley Relay.
Halle Sears picked up her 2nd State Qualifying time of the season already with a 1st place finish in the 200y Individual Medley, swimming a time of 2:11.35. Wittrock would take 4th for Spencer at 2:29.55.
In the 50y Free, the Tigers’ Ava Vogt was 3rd with a time of 26.32 seconds.
For the 100y Fly, Spencer’s Paterson finished 3rd, clocking 1:04.62.
The Tigers had two top 5 finishers in the 100y Free with McFarland 3rd, swimming 57.86 seconds and Vogt in 5th at 58.83.
Spencer’s 200y Free Relay team of Paterson, Vogt, McFarland, and Sears hit a mark of 1:41.77 to finish 1st.
The Tigers took the top 3 positions in the 100y Back with Sears 1st at 1:00.76, Wittrock 2nd at 1:02.51, and McFarland 3rd with a time of 1:04.58.
In the Team Standings, Waukee won with 529 points, Boone was 2nd at 509, and Spencer finished 3rd with 426 points.
