Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Tennis team was at home on Tuesday afternoon for a Siouxland Conference matchup against Storm Lake.
In Singles, Brynn Merchant won #1, Kate Elser won #2, Kennedy Graettinger won #3, and Aubrey McFarland won #4, all by 8-0 margins. Dakota Lux and Kinzley Roberts each won their singles matches by 8-1 margins.
McFarland and Lux teamed up for #2 singles, winning 8-0 over Kurenai Phimsen and Alondra Perkins. McFarland talked about some of the things that went well for her singles and doubles matches.
Graettinger and Merchant won the #1 doubles 8-0 as well. In the #3 Doubles, Vivian and Pearl Whittenburg teamed up for an 8-1 win against Aimee Rodriguez and Alexandra Calderon. The sisters have been playing strong in their freshman season.
Spencer came out with a new strategy on the courts against the Tornadoes on Tuesday.
Spencer improves to 8-0 on the season in Duals while Storm Lake falls to 0-9. The Tornadoes will have duals against both Spirit Lake/Okoboji and Le Mars before both teams will meet for the Siouxland Conference Tournament in Okoboji on September 11th.
