Wallingford, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — We have details on a tractor fire that occurred Wednesday near Wallingford. Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says the driver of a John Deere 4640 pulling a grain cart noticed a fire under the steering column, quickly exited, and called 9-1-1. The crew was able to extinguish the fire and although the tractor was a total loss, the fire did not spread.

The initial call was placed around 12:40 with the fire department on the scene for about an hour.
Possible cause is listed as electrical.
