Tree Pruning Continues In Spencer

Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Spencer residents EAST of Grand Avenue may notice crews in their neighborhoods as the City of Spencer pushes forward with its Urban Forestry Canopy Management Plan.

Parks and Recreation Director Bob Fullhart says contractors are performing structural pruning on mature trees in the city’s right of way – the area between the curb and sidewalk.

Fullhart says the initiative aims to preserve the existing canopy rather than start with new trees when possible.

Fullhart says residents may need to temporarily move vehicles to allow crews access to specific trees. The work will continue through March.
