Lyon County, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A driver was killed Tuesday afternoon in Lyon County after a pickup truck collided with a train just a mile south of the Minnesota border.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that at approximately 12:30 p.m., a 2026 Ford pickup was traveling westbound on 110th Street when the driver failed to yield at a railroad crossing northwest of Lester. A southbound BNSF locomotive struck the vehicle, causing it to roll and catch fire.
