Estherville, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) Two suspects are in custody following a violent assault in Estherville yesterday afternoon.

Just after 5:00 P.M., Estherville Police responded to an apartment at 9 South 9th Street. There, they discovered a male victim suffering from severe facial injuries. Investigators say the victim was lured outside his home before being attacked. He was later transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital for treatment.

The suspects, identified as Josephine Cole and Michael Ellison, allegedly fled the scene in a grey minivan. Following a multi-county search, Kossuth County Deputies intercepted the vehicle and took both individuals into custody.

Cole and Ellison now face Class C Felony charges for Willful Injury. They are currently being held in Kossuth County on separate charges stemming from the traffic stop, pending transfer to Emmet County.
