Okoboji, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Tourism continues to be strong in Okoboji, as Vacation Okoboji releases their current data. Last weekend, over 72,000 visitors rolled into Dickinson County. They were coming from all over, but especially from Sioux City, Des Moines, and Sioux Falls.

As for where they’re staying, Hotels are at 76% capacity, with some rooms still available this weekend. Vacation rentals are seeing an especially high demand. This weekend, they’re at 94% capacity, with next weekend not far behind at 81%. The average rental is now costing guests about four hundred and eighty-three dollars a night. $483

The data shows a split in how people are booking their trips. About a third of visitors are making reservations over 90 days in advance, while another quarter are booking their stays just a few days out.
